Have you been selected as a possible member of the Citizens’ Assembly?

On April 25, 2006 Elections Ontario launched its independent process to select members from across Ontario for the Citizens' Assembly. On that day, more than 120,000 randomly selected Ontarians were sent letters inviting them to express interest in becoming Assembly members.

Recipients of those letters are eligible to put their names forward to become Citizens’ Assembly members. Some of those who expressed interest will be invited to orientation and selection meetings that Elections Ontario will host in 16 regional centres across Ontario. One Assembly member and two alternates from each of Ontario’s 103 electoral districts will then be selected from those eligible persons who decide to put their names forward as potential members of the Assembly.

The selection process will be completed by Elections Ontario on or before July 14 and the first meeting of the Citizens' Assembly is planned for September, 2006.
