On April 25, 2006 Elections Ontario launched its independent process to select members from across Ontario for the Citizens' Assembly. On that day, more than 120,000 randomly selected Ontarians were sent letters inviting them to express interest in becoming Assembly members.

On April 25, 2006 Elections Ontario launched its independent process to select members from across Ontario for the Citizens' Assembly. The selection - of one member and two alternates per provincial electoral district - will be completed on or before July 14. The first meeting of the Citizens' Assembly is planned for September.
